Debating and Public Speaking

Hi,

My name is Annastasia Ward and I made it into public speaking. It was my first time, so I was really nervous. When we first got to Appin P.S. I was still really nervous but when we walked into the hall I felt a little bit more comfortable because not many people were there. Some of the students did their speech. I thought that they did a fantastic job and that I was in a bit of a competition.

When I went up to the front to do my speech my stomach felt a bit weird but as I went along I got used to it and I didn't want to stop. After everybody had finished their speeches the judges handed out certificates. Everyone got one for participation and two people got a certificate for high achievement.

It was time for the judges to announce the two young girls going onto the next level. My stomach had butterflies and I couldn't wait until she said the names. When she called my name I was soooooooooooooooooo excited I couldn't believe that they chose me. I was so happy and nervous at the same time.

You should have a go and try it yourself becuase you never know what is going to happen.
